Open Front Page. Make sure all webs and files are closed.

Enter User Name and password.

Open index.html or index.htm.

Publish web to your hard drive.

Browse to the folder where you want the site downloaded.

This will take some time but will download the entire site to your computer.

This message may come up about converting the folder into a web. Choose Yes.

This error message about dynamic Front Page components may come up also. Choose Continue.

This is valid for Front Page 2000 but should be similar for FP98 and also newer versions of FP when they come out.

Other Notes:

To Upload FTP can be used but be careful not to damage the Front Page extensions and settings. You must know what you are doing. It may also be possible to upload individual files with FTP rather than going through the entire process of publishing via Front Page.

Synchronizing from DreamWeaver seems to works fine. Test what can and cannot be uploaded individually.
