Projects

• The Five Valleys Chapter is currently assisting with an important conservation project for those of us in western Montana. This project, the Elkhorns Initiative, is located southeast of Helena. It is a five year, 20,000 acre project, which includes the acquisition of key properties in the Elkhorn Mountains. These acquisitions will provide year round habitat for bighorn sheep, elk, mule deer, antelope and many other species of wildlife. Public ownership of this habitat would prevent residential development, maintain historic agricultural production and provide public access to the properties as well as to adjacent public lands.

• To help raise funds for the Elkhorns Initiative and other RMEF projects, the Five Valleys Chapter will be holding its 20th Annual Big Game Banquet at the Holiday Inn-Parkside in Missoula (200 S Pattee Street) on Saturday May 7, 2005. If you would like to attend the banquet and help us celebrate our 20th year anniversary, please complete the enclosed banquet application form.
